Noelia Povedano
Chief Executive Officer

Noelia Povedano is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Beta Capital Securities LLC who also sits on the company's board of directors. Noelia joined Beta in 2013, bringing more than 20 years of Investment Banking experience in international capital markets, portfolio management and asset allocation. Noelia brings in excess of 14 years of executive management experience with a proven track record of results-based work ethic, professionalism, and corporate culture. Noelia is effectively supported by a team of administration, compliance, operations, and investment products specialists whose teamwork and expertise help Beta build long-term relationships with growing client base and provide excellent customer service. Noelia joined Credit Andorra Financial Group in 1997, and among other positions she has been serving as the CEO of Credit Andorra Panama Securities since its inception of the broker dealer and maintained that position for a period of 4 years. Prior to that, Noelia spent 11 years with Credit Andorra Financial Group, holding a variety of high-level management and investment portfolio roles. Noelia brings a keen understanding of the global economy and knows how to best position Beta and its clients in an ever-changing, highly volatile market. Noelia graduated from Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain in 1997, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and successfully completed the CFA, Chartered Financial Analyst Certification and CEFA, Certified European Financial Analyst. Noelia maintains the FINRA Series 7, 86 and 24 licenses.

Idelma Hervis
Chief Financial Officer/FINOP

Idelma Hervis is the Financial Operations Principal (FINOP) of Beta Capital Securities LLC. Idelma is primarily responsible for providing day-to-day oversight of the business activities, as well as oversight and preparation of the Firm's financial reporting. Idelma has well over 30 years of broker-dealer experience, of which 14 years have been in a supervisory capacity. Idelma began her career at Donaldson Lufkin Jenrette Futures, as an Associate. She was one of six members who established the Shearson Lehman Brothers Miami International office. Her career took her to work at several small independent broker-dealers during which she obtained her principal licenses. Five years later she joined a highly successful team at the Miami International office of Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith and served as the senior staff member for the group, preparing asset allocation presentations and executing their implementation. In 2000, the founding partners of Beta Capital Management LP recruited her to form part of their sales team and after 6 years she moved from sales to the administration side of the business. Prior to her current position, Idelma served as both the Firm's Chief Compliance Officer and FINOP and was also responsible for the supervision of the Firm's compliance program. Idelma is a graduate of Florida International University majoring in Finance and International Business and successfully completed IMCA's Certified Investment Management Analyst program at Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 1999. She maintains the Series 3, 4, 7, 63, 79, 99, 24, 27 and 53 licenses.

Samantha Santiago
Chief Compliance Officer

Samantha Santiago is the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) of Beta Capital Securities LLC. Samantha has extensive experience in the securities industry (more than 18 years), as well as licenses (Series 6, 7, 63, 9, 10 and 23) along with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in law. Samantha recently held a senior-level management position with UBS International where she served in a dual-hatted role as the member firm's Director of Business Risk and KYC Manager Team Lead responsible for various aspects of client onboarding (including the vetting of net new assets and new clients), training, and risk assessments, as well as managing and supervising a team of seven KYC Managers sitting in the different UBS International offices throughout the United States. Other highlights of Samantha's experience include, but are not limited to, her employment tenure with KPMG where she functioned as a Senior Associate responsible for various consulting initiatives including, but not limited to, conducting compliance risk assessments and other related reviews.  Other noteworthy experience includes Samantha's 2012 to 2015 tenure with UBS Financial where she served as Senior Branch Examiner/Compliance Officer responsible for conducting various risk-based reviews, branch examinations, training, as well as mentoring new hires and managing an audit team of two to six examiners. Samantha also functioned as Assistant Compliance Manager for AXA Advisors working directly with the CCO to complete the 3130 report and conduct internal audits for the Non-OSJ offices. In addition, she was an Internal Wholesaler for AXA Distributors. Prior to commencing her career in the financial services industry, Samantha completed her J.D. at Vermont Law School and her undergraduate studies at Stony Brook University with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and a minor in Psychology.

Director of Self-Clearing/Risk Manager

Robert Lebowitz is the Director of Clearing Services of Beta Capital Securities LLC.  Rob joined Beta in 2017, bringing more than 20 years of Investment Banking experience in Risk, Margin Lending, Unregistered Securities, Operations & International Capital Markets. Rob brings in excess of 18 years of senior management experience with a proven track record of results-based work ethic, professionalism and problem-solving skills. Rob is effectively supported by a team of Operations professionals whose teamwork and attention to detail serves as the benchmark in client service. Rob reports directly to our general management to help Beta build long-term client centric relationships and a product that ensures success of the firm. Rob spent 20 years with J.P. Morgan and Bear Stearns, holding a variety of high-level management and subject matter expertise roles. Rob brings an extensive awareness of the global economy and knows how to best position Beta and its clients in an ever-changing, highly volatile market from a risk perspective. Rob maintains the FINRA Series 7 General Securities License and FINRA Series 24 Principal Securities License.

Meritxell Pons Torres
Asset Management Director

Meritxell Pons Torres is the Asset Management Director, leading a team dedicated to the analysis, selection, and management of investments for Crèdit Andorrà Financial Group's clients in the region. She has been with Crèdit Andorrà Financial Group since 2000. Prior to her current role, Meritxell was the Head of Fixed Income at Crèdit Andorrà Asset Management for ten years. She previously held the position of Head of Money Market and Fixed Income funds and portfolio manager at Crèdit Andorrà Asset Management. Meritxell graduated in Economics from the University of Barcelona and took courses at the London School of Economics and the University of California at Berkeley. She qualified as CEFA (Certified EFFAS Financial Analyst) in 2001 and has been CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) since 2012. She is a native speaker of Spanish and Catalan, fluent in English and French, and has limited proficiency in German. She currently maintains the FINRA Series 3, 7, 66 and 86 licenses.

Marjorie Escudero
Chief Operations Officer

Marjorie Escudero joined Beta Capital Securities LLC on September 2016 as the Chief Operations Officer. Marjorie has over 20 years' experience in the Brokerage/ Banking Industry. In 1987 she joined Westpac Banking Corporation as Foreign Exchange Operations Manager. In this role, Marjorie assisted the planning/organization of the centralization of Foreign Exchange Operations with Head Office in Sydney, Australia in 1997. From 1997 to 1999 Marjorie joined Information Paradigms in New York, as a Business Analyst, where she researched and documented existing Operations, system procedures, work-flows, and product and service requirements for clients. From 1999 to 2002 Marjorie worked at CAP Gemini Ernst & Young, in New York as a Quality Assurance Analyst, where she developed test plans, test scripts, and participated in the implementation of all test phases for the Foreign Exchange Front Office Trading System. In 2004, Marjorie started working for E.S. Financial Services (currently known as Brickell Global Markets), a self-clearing firm, as the Broker Dealer Operations Manager. As the Operations manager, Marjorie was responsible for the supervision of the daily trade settlements, cash settlements, fail trades, new accounts, reconciliations, cost basis, ACAT, non-ACAT transfers, and expense-sharing agreements.  On October 2008, Marjorie took the Series 27 FINOP license, and became the firm's FINOP until July 2015. As the firm's FINOP Ms. Escudero was responsible for preparation and filing of regulatory reporting such as the FOCUS report, Form Custody, SSOI, OBS report, Audited and Non-Audited Financials. Marjorie planned and coordinated all internal and external audits, and was very involved with all FINRA and SEC audits. She monitored rules and recordkeeping requirements of the broker dealer, reconciled the General Ledger, bank statements, and clearing firm statements. Marjorie is very knowledgeable with both self-clearing firms as well as operating on a fully disclosed basis. Marjorie graduated from Baruch College, New York, and obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. She is fluent in Spanish, and currently holds the Series 7 and Series 27 licenses.

Maria Castillo
Firm Founder

Maria Castillo is a founding partner of Beta Capital. She was born in Cuba and went to live in Spain and Europe when The Castro regime took over Cuba. She holds a BA degree in economics from Sorbonne University. Her work experience began in 1978 in Mexico at Multibanco Comermex, where she started her career and was the first woman to become a licensed stock broker in Mexico. In 1985 she came to Miami to open the Latin American division of Lehman Brothers and was in charge of the Private Client Group for Mexico. As a Managing Director of Lehman, she was instrumental in developing Lehman’s investment banking relations with Mexican institutions. Maria holds FINRA’s series 3, 7, 63, and 24 licenses. She manages assets for high net worth individuals. Fluent in English, Spanish, French and Italian.

Maria Healy
Firm Founder

Maria Healy has been in the securities industry since 1978. She graduated from Marymount College in Tarrytown N.Y. with a BA in Economics. Maria holds Series 3, 7, and 24 licenses. She has been managing portfolios for high net worth individuals since 1986 when she was employed by Lehman brothers. Prior to 1986 she was a vice president and manager of the Grains and Oilseeds department at Lehman Brothers where she was on the floor of the CBOT. She has attended numerous seminars and courses relating to the asset management industry. She founded Beta Capital with other partners and has been with the company since its founding in 1995. She has worked in New York, Chicago, and Miami, always servicing international clients. She is well travelled, speaks Spanish and English fluently, and has a working knowledge of Portuguese.

Maria Roxanne Healy
Senior Vice - President/ Firm Founder

Maria Roxanne "Roxy" Healy has approximately 39 years of experience in the industry. Her career began in 1979 at Shearson Lehman Brothers where she was in charge of the Futures Desk trading all futures for Chile, Paraguay, and European Branches. Subsequently she spent 4 years as a Registered Sales Assistant with Lehman Brothers.  Roxy proceeded to become one of the founding partners / Senior Vice President at Beta Capital in 1995 and currently maintains this position. Roxy graduated from Marymount College in 1979 with a degree in Business Administration. Roxy holds series 3, 65 and 7 licenses.

Roger Rodriguez
Senior Vice - President/ Firm Founder

Roger Rodriguez has approximately 30 years of industry-related experience and is responsible for the Adviser activities. Roger began his career in 1987 as a banking operations associate in Shearson Lehman, responsible for maintaining a detailed understanding of accounts-related procedures. Subsequent to his position with operations he spent 5 years working with bank's sales department. His position as sales associate involved collecting and keeping client information up-to-date as well as helping to maintain clients’ portfolios. Later, Roger, together with other colleagues, opened up Beta Capital where he was a partner and Broker for 16 years. In 2011, Roger and his partners sold the company to BCM, and he is now a Senior Vice President and manages approximately $200 million in portfolios for institutional and high net worth clients. Roger graduated from Colorado State University with an undergraduate degree in Computer Sciences in 1985. Roger is fluent in Spanish and currently maintains the Series 7 and 3 security licenses.

Xavier Castillo
Senior Vice - President/ Firm Founder

Xavier Castillo is a graduate of Georgetown University (BA 1991). Soon after Xavier started his professional career at Lehman Brothers where he quickly rose to Vice President helping develop the trading desk covering Mexican Institutions and high net worth individuals.  Xavier built on this success while embarking on a new venture as a junior partner with Beta Capital where he has worked since 1995 developing relationships with high net worth individuals and institutions. Xavier is fluent in English and Spanish and has a working knowledge of French. He currently holds Series 7 security License.

Alejandro Naranjo
Vice President

Alejandro Naranjo has almost 21 years of industry-related experience. Alejandro began his career in 1998 as an Assistant Portfolio Manager for Invest, Inversiones Estrategicas in Mexico. His duties were analyzing possible investments options for 3 different funds, while helping maintain an adequate risk/reward balance. After a year of serving as an Assistant Portfolio Manager, he became Portfolio Manager for the Delfin Income Fund PLC, where he was in charge of the whole investment strategy. After leaving Invest he joined Beta Capital in 2002 to work as a Financial Broker. At Beta he mainly handls Institutional accounts (asset managers & insurance companies). Alejandro holds a Bachelor degree in Economics from Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and he holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from the Instituto Autonomo de Mexico. Alejandro is fluent in Spanish and currently maintains the Series 3, 7, 63 and 66 licenses.

Khashayar Atabaki
Senior Vice - President

Khashayar Atabaki maintains approximately 18 years of industry-related experience and is responsible for all Adviser activities. Khashayar began his career in 2001 at Lehman Brothers, primarily responsible for institutional and high net worth clients along with some government treasuries. In this role Khashayar was responsible for all matters related to investments, managing over $1 billion in assets. Subsequent to Lehman Brothers, Khashayar was hired by Barclays Capital as Vice President with a mandate to continue his focus on high net worth individuals and institutions primarily in Latin America and the Caribbean region. In 2014 Barclays Capital ceased all investment management-related work in the Caribbean and Latin America. At Barclays, Khashayar continued his focus on advising both individuals and institutions on asset management-related strategies. In April 2014, Khashayar was hired by Beta Capital as Senior Vice President. Khashayar continues over 18 years of service to his clients and is more dedicated than ever. Khashayar graduated with an M.A in International Business with a focus on Economics from Boston University in 1991. Khashayar also has an MBA from Columbia Business School graduating in 2001. Khashayar is fluent in English, Farsi, Spanish and competent in French. He maintains the FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses.

Gustavo Guerini
Senior Vice - President

Gustavo Guerini maintains approximately 20 years of industry experience as an advisor and portfolio manager. Prior to joining Beta Capital, Mr. Guerini worked at Standard Bank Group, in their Private Clients Service division. Prior to joining Standard Bank, Gustavo worked at Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan as an Associate in their Private Banking divisions.  Gustavo holds an MBA degree from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration, University of Virginia and a Bachelor's degree from Universidad Católica Argentina. Gustavo is fluent in Spanish and currently maintains the FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses.

Gregorio Echevarria
Senior Vice - President

Gregorio Echevarria started his banking career at Chase Manhattan Bank in New York in the Private Banking International Department in 1979 as Administrative Assistant and worked his way up to Second Vice President, developing and marketing new business from existing customers and cultivating relationships with new customers. He also marketed and secured credit approval and servicing of the New York customer relationship maintained with foreign high net worth individuals, non-borrowing corporations, non-profit organizations and international organizations domiciled in Latin America including, but not limited to, Mexico, Panama, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Spain. In 1984, Gregorio was recruited by American Express Bank International as Senior Director/Relationship Manager, working in the International Private Banking Department. In addition to the private banking role, he was assigned to the Wealth Management Division. After 30 years of experience in the Banking Division, Gregorio joined UBS AG as an executive Director where he developed and marketed new business from previously known clients, cultivated new customers domiciled in the Caribbean, Central and South America, and Spain, completed personalized services tailored to individual client needs, provided assistance and guidance in establishing investment options when necessary and managed all accounts on an individual basis. He still continues to travel frequently and maintains extensive personal contacts in the indicated regions. Gregorio studied at the American Institute of Banking in New York from 1971 through 1974 and Bergen Community College in Paramus, New Jersey from 1974 through 1976. He graduated from New York University in New York on 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a minor in Business.

Diana Prat-Urdaneta
Senior Vice - President

Diana Prat-Urdaneta joined Beta Capital in 2015 as Senior Vice President with more than 30 years in the financial sector servicing high net worth individuals. Diana began her career as a Private Banker at Banco de Venezuela International, primarily responsible for assisting in developing and managing HNW private banking relationships.  In 1990 Diana joined Banco Latino International as a Relationship Manager. Her responsibilities included managing a portfolio comprised of International Private Banking Clients, supervising the Customer Service department and implementing a credit card program, ensuring proper accounting procedures, inventory control and reporting. Diana also spent eight (8) years as AVP at SunTrust Bank where she built and managed a portfolio comprised of deposits and investment products, fiduciary structures, as well as cross-selling the full range of products. She was given recognition for Top Investment Sales Performance in 1996 and 1997. Subsequent to her tenure with SunTrust Bank, Diana was a Director at American Express Bank for 7 years; it was acquired by Standard Chartered Bank in 2008.  She developed and managed a $170MM portfolio of Latin American clients comprised of investment products, fiduciary structures, deposit products and secured credits. In 2005 American Express awarded Diana the "Great Achievers Award" for greatest performance on assets under management in the western hemisphere. Diana previously also served as Director at Atlas One Financial Group and Andbank Brokerage, where she managed and developed asset allocations and carried out trade executions for clients. Diana is fluent in English and Spanish and currently maintains the Series 7 license and the 214 Life and Variable Annuity License.

Galia Marcus
Senior Vice - President

Galia Marcus is responsible for all Financial Advisor activities with more than 22 years of experience in the industry. Galia began her career in 1995 in Bank Leumi in Tel Aviv, Israel as a Relationship Manager servicing clients in the Preferred Customers Department, cultivating and managing HNW individuals. Following her position in Israel, she relocated to Mexico City, where she began to develop the Mexican market through the Representative Office of Bank Leumi.   Galia, during her eight years in this office, developed an important portfolio comprised of individual and corporate high net worth clients. Subsequent to her 15 years with Bank Leumi, Galia was offered the position of Deputy Manager of the Representative Office in Panama of Bank Haopalim. During the 5 years in this position, Galia oversaw all activities of the office, supervised the Relationship Managers and was responsible for developing new relationships with Latin American customers, mainly from Panama, Costa Rica, and Mexico. Galia joined Beta Capital as Senior Vice President in 2017 where she has had the opportunity to continue developing new relationships and managing portfolios for her existing Latin American customers. Galia is fluent in English, Spanish and Hebrew and currently maintains the Series 7 security License.

Raul Ponte
Fixed Income Senior Portfolio Manager

Raul Ponte joined the group in 2014. Raul has more than 30 years of experience in the financial sector of which 19 were in Emerging Markets at JPMorgan NY. During that time he was the Head of Fixed Income Trading as well as responsible for the bank´s Treasuries Department in Latin America. During his time in a Hedge Fund (Nuverse- NY); he was dedicated to advising the Private Banking of Atlas One and then Andbank, both in Miami where he was responsible for managing an Investment Fund. Raul obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Public Accountancy from the University of Buenos Aires Argentina.

Charles Castillo
Senior Portfolio Manager

Charles Castillo has approximately 16 years of industry-related experience and is responsible for portfolio management. Charles began his career in 2002 as an Operations Associate with Espirito Santo Bank responsible for back office operations of the broker-dealer.  Subsequent to his tenure at Espirito Santo, Charles spent 4 years as the primary research analyst of a long/short hedge fund.   Prior to joining Beta Capital, Charles spent nine years with Raymond James as a Senior Research Associate and covered a variety of industries including Telecom, IT Services, and Advanced Industrials. Charles graduated with a degree in Finance from the University of Miami School of Business Administration undergraduate degree program in 2000. Charles also maintains a Master of Science in Finance with honors from Florida International University and a Master in Business Administration from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. Charles currently maintains the Series 7, 86 and 87 security licenses.
